To celebrate the publication of About Us: Essays from the New York Times’ Disability Series, the New York University Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute is sponsoring a showing of the documentary Far From the Tree, directed by Rachel Dretzin and inspired by Andrew Solomon’s award-winning book of the same name. The showing will be preceded, at 4:30pm, by a book launch for the disability anthology, featuring editors Rosemarie Garland-Thomson and Peter Catapano, and foreword author Andrew Solomon; the showing will be followed by remarks by Andrew Solomon, and by Emily Kingsley and Jason Kingsley, who appear in both the book and the movie. More information about this event will be posted as it become available.
