The Metropolitan Museum of Art exhibition Unfinished: Thoughts Left Visible provides a springboard for exploration of the notion of things unfinished or incomplete. Forum presenter Bridget Kendall is joined by Metropolitan Museum of Art trustee and PEN America president Andrew Solomon; Andrea Bayer, the Met’s curator of European paintings; art collector and philanthropist Jayne Wrightsman; comedian, actor and filmmaker Negin Farsad; and artist Kerry James Marshall, to address how we might respond to an unfinished work, be it a painting, a book, a piece of music, a film or a building, and how the idea of ‘unfinished’ translates into an ever-changing historical and political context.
